William Samuel Stublen, Jr. 85, passed away February 27, 2016 in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Stublen, a native of Portsmouth, was the son of the late William S. Stublen, Sr. and Annie Letitia Stublen. He was retired as a sales representative from Davidson Beauty Supply, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a member of Moose Lodge #898. He and his family attended the Church of the Resurrection. He was predeceased by three sisters, June Liverman, Sue Eure, and Anne Young.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Babb Stublen; three children, William S. Stublen III and wife Paula, Denise S. Shindle and husband Warren, and Marsha Lee Holmes and husband Jim; also survived by six grandchildren, Wes, Matt and wife Cristan, Erin, Summer, Taylor and Dawson; a brother, Robert Stublen and wife Sue; a sister, Sandra Shelton; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2nd at the Church of the Resurrection, 3501 Cedar Lane, Portsmouth. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk. Following the burial, the family will receive friends at a reception at the church.
