PORTSMOUTH- William Ray Rowe, Sr., 84, passed away November 30, 2017. He was born in Wilson, North Carolina to the late Alfonso and Estelle Lamm Rowe.
Bill was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a retired Bell Atlantic engineer. He was a member of Alexander Baptist Church. Bill was predeceased by his brothers, Frederick D. Rowe, Michael L. Rowe and a sister, Geraldine Croom.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; sons, William "Ray" Rowe, Jr., Robert A. Rowe, and Gary L. Rowe; brother, Franklin J. Rowe; sister, Verelle Bunch and husband Ted; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., followed by a visitation until 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 8, at Foster Funeral Home, 1926 High St., Portsmouth.
