Virginia Beauchamp Murden passed away January 14, 2017.
Miss Murden was born in Portsmouth, the daughter of the late Virginius Bilisoly Murden, Jr. and Dorothy Beauchamp Murden. She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and the Westhampton College of the University of Richmond, and retired from the City of Portsmouth, Department of Social Services, after 30 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Monumental United Methodist Church.
Survivors include several cousins and godchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Monumental United Methodist Church, 450 Dinwiddie St., Portsmouth, Va. 23704. Burial will be private in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Monumental United Methodist Church; or Randolph-Macon College, Ashland, Virginia for the Bishop William B. Beauchamp Scholarship Fund.
