PORTSMOUTH- Verna Facenda Bradshaw, 80, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 16, 2019. She was born in Portsmouth to the late Emilia T. and Olive R. Facenda.

Verna attended St. Paul's Catholic School and was a devoted member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She worked for the Portsmouth Public Schools for over 15 years. Spending her whole life devoted to caring for her family, she seemed to never ask anything for herself.

In addition to her parents, Verna was predeceased by her son Timothy A. Harrell, Sr. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Timothy A. Bradshaw; brother Eugene T. Facenda; children Kenneth A. Bradshaw, Richard C. Harrell, Jr., and Sharon P. Turner; grandchildren Kelly P. Weymouth, Jennifer P. Cote, Trey Harrell, III, and Timothy Harrell, Jr.; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, at Foster Funeral Home, 1926 High St., Portsmouth. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 522 High St., Portsmouth. Entombment will immediately follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3920 Airline Blvd., Chesapeake. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
