PORTSMOUTH-Theodora Beall Mason, 90, passed away June 13, 2020 at Maryview Medical Center of Covid-19.  A resident of Portsmouth for virtually her whole life, she was born in Hagerstown, MD, the daughter of Mary Hatton Mason and Augustine Smith Mason.

A librarian for the City of Portsmouth, she was a life-long member of St. John's  Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the Choir for fifty years.  She also served on the Vestry, Altar Guild, Search Committee, as Secretary of the Sunday School and in many areas of Outreach of the Church.  She was a direct descendant of several of the Church's founders.  She was active in several charitable projects in Portsmouth, and served as President and member of the Board of Directors of the Portsmouth Area Resources Commission (PARC).

She is survived by her sister, Mary Mason Johnson of Glen Mills, PA; her niece, Mary J. Ryan, and two grandnieces, Mary Grace and Eliza Q. Ryan, all of Malvern, PA; and several close and loving cousins and friends.
