Sue Wingfield Everett, 66, passed away peacefully in her home on January 30, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. A native of Portsmouth, she was the daughter of the late Seth T. and Mary D. Everett and was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1965 and retired from the City of Portsmouth after many years. Sue loved music, dancing, the beach and enjoyed her several trips to Disney World with her grandchildren.

Left to cherish Sue's memory is her loving daughter who cared for her around the clock nearing the end of her life, Allison St. Hilaire and partner Kevin Lathan and her son whom she was extremely proud of, Evan W. Pierce and wife Whitney; two brothers, Bob and John Everett; grandchildren, Morgan, Tanner and Cameryn Pierce, Christopher and Zac St. Hilaire and Everett Lathan. She will be deeply missed by many, many friends and family members, especially her dearest friends Barbara, Julie, Carol M., Elly, Carol L., Ruthie, Diane O., Diane T., Linda and Jenni. She was predeceased by her brother Thomas Everett.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday February 4, 2014 in Trinity Episcopal Church, 500 Court Street, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Kathleen M. Bobbitt and the Rev. Julia Dorsey Loomis. Burial will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Foster Funeral Home, 1926 High Street, Portsmouth, VA. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donation to Trinity Episcopal Church, ECW or The MSA Coalition in memory of Sue. Condolences may be registered at bwfosterfuneralhome.com.
