Stephen A. Marconyak, 104, died February 21, 2017, in Virginia Beach, VA. The son of John & Julia (Krall) Marconyak was born of Slovakian descent in Donora, PA.
Survivors include sons Louis (Susan) Marconyak of Virginia Beach, Thomas (Donna) Marconyak of Pittsburgh, PA, daughter Marian (Bernard) Hamilton of Virginia Beach, 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sisters Bertha Nungesser of Shaker Heights, OH, and Mildred DePaolis of Pittsburgh, PA.
He was predeceased by his wife Louise (Diulus) Marconyak of Italian descent and siblings Bro. Paul (John) Marconyak, OSB, Rev. Albert Marconyak, Margaret Duda, and Sr. Mariella Marck, SFCC.
He owned Louise's Beauty Salon in Donora, PA, and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved baking, gardening, fishing and was devoted to church service. He was married for 41 years, the latter during which he cared for his wife's every need.
The family is grateful to Beth Sholom Home staff, the Legion of Mary, and acknowledges the men who visited him every week to watch him collect their poker pennies. Recitation of the rosary in the church will occur during the 11am viewing held in the commons at St. Matthew Catholic Church, February 27, 2017. A Funeral Mass at 12 noon will be celebrated by Fr. John Abe, followed by a reception. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneralHome.com.
