NORFOLK – Stephen F. Fowlkes, 67, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017. He courageously fought pulmonary fibrosis with every stubborn cell in his body.
Born and raised in Norfolk, Steve put in hard work at Norfolk and Southern Railroad, where he eventually retired. Steve had a strong attraction to the ocean. He grew up in Ocean View, surfing, boating, and fishing in every honey hole around. He loved taking his friends, family, and neighbors fishing any given opportunity. Off the water, he enjoyed cruising around and going to shows in his red-hot '66 Mustang. He was a kind-hearted, generous man who loved to help whenever he saw a person in need. He will be dearly missed for his stubborn attitude, silly personality, and loving soul.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sharon Baehman, Danielle Caraco and her husband Sunny; seven grandchildren, Sunny Caraco, Jr., Jake Baehman, Ziggy Caraco, Jayla Caraco, Brianna Baehman, Savanna Baehman, Samantha Baehman; and one brother, James Fowlkes.
