PORTSMOUTH- Shirley Hesketh Freedman, 91, passed away on October 18, 2018 in Portsmouth, VA.

A Portsmouth native and longtime Chesapeake resident, Shirley is survived by her son, Michael L. Freedman and wife Cynthia, of Chesapeake; two granddaughters, Catherine Dixon and husband Dan,of Suffolk, and Chris Wells and husband Neal, of Chesapeake; sister Regina Powers of Suffolk; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 27, at Olive Branch Cemetery, 2 Cpl J M Williams Ave., Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emily Green Shores, 500 Westmoreland Ave., Portsmouth, VA 23707, in gratitude of their exceptional care of her.
