Shirley Ann Butler, 80, passed away May 29, 2017 surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Butler, a native of Portsmouth, was the daughter of the late Frank J. and Rosa Owens Yerabek, and was the widow of Carroll Moore Butler since his passing in 1982.
Shirley worked 30 years for the Portsmouth Commissioner of the Revenue office. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, where she was very active and had a deep faith. She enjoyed her friends, family, and her cat Punkin. Shirley was deeply loved and will be missed.
Survivors include two sons, Carroll M. "C.J." Butler, Jr. (Leigh), Paul A. Butler (Jennifer); former daughter-in-law, Tracy Johnson (Greg); six grandchildren, Cole Butler (Christine), Jessica Butler, Mandy Butler, Marguerite Butler, Caroline Butler, and Jacob Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Cole, Jr. and Carly. She was also predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Ann Yerabek; and a granddaughter, Erin Rose Butler.
A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 5 at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 522 High St., Portsmouth. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery.
