Sharon Kay Brannegan, beloved mother, sister, aunt, and Nana passed away Thursday morning March 6, 2014 at the age of 66. Sharon worked as a nurse and hospital administrator for 30 years at Virginia Beach General Hospital, which later became Sentara Hospital. Sharon was born in Keokuk, Iowa and left when she joined the Navy and was stationed in Hawaii. She then moved to Virginia Beach in 1981. Sharon loved cooking, fishing, being on the water and most of all, spending as much time with her family as possible. Of all her many accomplishments, being Nana was her most cherished.

Sharon is survived by her five children, nine grandchildren, three sisters and a brother.
