CHESAPEAKE—Robert Thomas John, 77, of Chesapeake by way of New York, passed away peacefully on the morning of Christmas Eve 2023, in his home, surrounded by family.

Robert, or Bob, as he was called by most, was a loving husband, caring father, and supportive friend. Married to the love of his life, Norma, for 55 years, the couple was blessed with three children: David (Keithe), Jason (Kari), and Valerie. From these unions Robert and Norma have had the pleasure of witnessing their legacy through their grandchildren: Monica, Melanie, Matthew, Isaiah, Hayden, Sophia, and Jacob.

A Veteran of the United States Navy, Robert was a true Patriot. He loved his country and took pride in his service during the Vietnam War. He later dedicated almost 27 years to the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where he started as an apprentice and retired as a Code 930 Zone Manager.

On behalf of Robert and the entire John family we would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to everyone who has reached out and offered their kindness and supportive sentiments during this time.
