SUFFOLK—It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved father, Robert Wayne "Buddy" Evans, Sr., 74, on May 11, 2024, in our home in Suffolk, Virginia.

Dad was born November 21, 1949 in Portsmouth, Virginia, and grew up in the Pinner's Point/Port Norfolk area. He was the son of the late Ernest Elijah Evans and Edith Hope White Evans.

Dad was a painter and worked many years with Gerloff Painting before his retirement.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Alvin and Gary, and his sister, Betty. He is survived by me, his only child, Robert Wayne "Bobby" Evans, Jr., and my wife Simone; our children, Jason Evans, Loran Anderson (Chris), and Jerry Jenkins; his great-grandchildren, Jameson and Ryan Leah; nieces Carrie Smith (Troy), Cindy Forrester (Taf), and Tami Overstreet; and sister-in-law Janie Evans. He will be dearly missed by all of us, including the family fur-baby, Missy.

Simone and I would like to extend a special thanks to Trinity Hospice for the loving care and support they provided during dad's illness.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 16, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 34 Afton Pkwy., Portsmouth, followed by burial at Olive Branch Cemetery in Portsmouth. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneralHome.com.
