Obituary

SUFFOLK—Robert Edward Brown, 51, of Denver, CO passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA, after fighting a long battle against a brain tumor. He was born in Long Beach, CA, July 28, 1969.

Rob retired from the U.S. Navy as a Master Chief after 24 years of service. He proudly served as a Search and Rescue Corpsman in the US Navy, deploying for Operation Support Democracy Haiti in 1994, and twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003-2004, 2005-2006).

Rob later went on to work for Z-Medica, until diagnosed with a brain tumor. He thoroughly enjoyed training both military and the public on Stop the Bleed/bleeding control.

Rob is survived by his wife of 10 years, Lisa Brown; son Cambridge; and daughters Chloe Thompson (Sean) and Faith Brown (fiancé Ty Ketchum).

He was a loving husband, brother, brother-in-law, father, and uncle. In his final years he devoted himself to his family, whom he loved fiercely. He helped them grow into the best versions of themselves, and they filled his life with pride, joy and love. He kept close ties with his many friends from the military. He was a loyal friend to many people.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 24, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 522 High St., Portsmouth.
