CHESAPEAKE--Rita Kalis Parish, 89, passed away June 14, 2026. She was born in New York, NY, to the late James and Alexandra Pohanis Kalis.

Rita was a teacher; she retired from Western Branch Middle School in Chesapeake. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roger Parish, and son James Parish. She is survived by her son Joseph Parish, and a grandson, Alex Brooks.

A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 7220 Granby St., Norfolk, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Granby St. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneralHome.com.
