CHESAPEAKE—Rebecca Laura Combs, 85, passed away September 10, 2024. She was born in High Point, North Carolina, to the late Lawrence W. Oliver, Sr. and Lucille Griffin Oliver.

She worked 38 years in the Civil Service at Portsmouth Naval Hospital and five years at Portsmouth Pulmonary. She enjoyed doing yard work, reading, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Rebecca is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dale Combs; her sons Kevin Combs (Christina) and Keith Combs; a brother Lawrence "Dickie" Oliver, Jr.; two grandchildren, Eric Combs (Sarah) and Kellie Combs; one great-grandchild, McKenna Rae; and other extended family members. She will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 12, at Foster Funeral Home, 1926 High St., Portsmouth. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 13, at Foster Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Chesapeake.
