PORTSMOUTH - Peggy Ann King, 77, went to be with her previously passed family members on December 24, 2017. Peggy was retired from Portsmouth General Hospital after 20-plus years as a surgical technician. She attended Woodrow Wilson High School and completed her Vocational Education Certificate in Nurses Aid Training on April 7, 1964. She was a member of Park View Baptist Church and also attended Port Norfolk Church.
Peggy was a dearly loved and devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She was all about her family and was a personal caregiver for Mother and Father and assisted her Mother with her Grandmother's care. She unconditionally loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all of her heart. She also had many friends whom she treated like family and was equally devoted to helping them in any possible way they needed.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband Harrell "Boney" King Jr.; Grandparents Annie and Andrew Constantine; her parents, Kathleen and Edward Bain; and her brother, Wayne Bain. She is survived by her children, Sherry Manning and her husband Timmy, Chris Townsley, Eddie Townsley and his wife Beth; her grandchildren Tiffany Manning, Brittany Manning , Andrew Manning, Christopher Townsley, Teddy Townsley and Katy Negroni; and great-grandchildren, Audriana Townsley, Rio Negroni and Eli Negroni.
The family will have a visitation at Foster Funeral Home, 1926 High St., Portsmouth from 4:00 to 6:00p.m. on Thursday, December 28. A funeral service will be held at Foster Funeral Home at 11:00a.m., Friday, December 29. A brief ceremony and interment will follow at the Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 4569 Shoulders Hill Rd., Suffolk.
