Norma Baker Rowe, 86, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2017 in Nashville, TN. She was a former resident of Portsmouth, VA for over 60 years.
She was predeceased by her husband William Lee Rowe and daughter, Patricia Leigh Rowe Tally. Norma is survived by sons Gary Evan Rowe and Leslie Lee Rowe and her sister Elizabeth Miller Freeman. She leaves four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a nephew and niece to carry on her memory.
Norma was born in Lofton, VA, to Nina Painter Baker and Andrew William Baker. After raising three children she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from Old Dominion University. An active member of Trinity Church in Portsmouth for many years, she taught Sunday school and was the first female member of the vestry. A wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, she possessed many talents including painting, sculpting, weaving, woodworking, sewing, and crocheting. She moved to Nashville, TN, in 2009 to live with her son.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 1:00 PM at West Park Church of Christ, 926 Cherokee Road, Portsmouth, VA by Mr. Keith Lewis. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneral\Home.com.
