PORTSMOUTH—Nathan Thomas Criddle, 31, passed away April 23, 2022. He was born in Portsmouth to Patrick and Nanette Reagan Criddle.

Nathan was a passionate man who loved his family, dogs, cars, motorcycles and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father and best friend, Patrick Ryan Criddle. He is survived by his mother, Nanette Reagan Criddle; three sisters: Shirley Criddle (Markus Flatscher), Reagan Criddle, and Keely Criddle; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Nathan spent most of his life in Hampton Roads.  After graduating from Nansemond Suffolk Academy he attended Old Dominion University and later became a licensed Crane Operator, which was a career he loved.  Nathan survived a serious motorcycle accident in June 2020, and he fought very hard for an amazing recovery. During that time he was blessed to have a group of good friends who helped watch over him, keep his spirits high, and focus on his recovery.

Throughout all of his challenges, Nathan's faith never waivered. We will all miss his smile, generosity, love, and witty sense of humor.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 522 High St., Portsmouth. The family will receive friends at the church an hour prior. Burial will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul Catholic Church Restoration Fund, 3501 Cedar Ln., Portsmouth, VA 23703.
