PORTSMOUTH—Myrna Navarro Riley, age 75, died in her home in Portsmouth, VA on Friday, June 24, 2022. She was a graduate of University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Mrs. Riley moved from the Philippines to Philadelphia in 1973. She met her husband Michael in 1985 and moved to Portsmouth, where she lived for the final 37 years of her life.  She worked as a Registered Nurse Maryview Hospital in Portsmouth before retiring in 2013.

Mrs. Riley was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved cooking, gardening and travelling.  She is survived by her husband, Michael; their son, Anthony; their daughter, Jennifer Kelems, their granddaughter, Emily Kelems; her brother, Bebot; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isidoro and Maria Navarro, and her siblings, Elpidio, Oscar, Gener, Rodil, and Puring.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, at Foster Funeral Home, 1926 High St., Portsmouth. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 522 High St, followed by burial at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
