Michael Joseph Glynn, age 74, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 19, 2018.  Born in Portsmouth on March 6, 1944, he had a career in transportation, first at Bonney Motor Company, where he became president in 1984.  Later he served as transportation manager of Smithfield Packing Company, then superintendent of Virginia International Terminals in Norfolk, Virginia.

Mike was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Louise Ollice Glynn, and by his father-in-law, Jim Matthews.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Jill D. Glynn; his four sons, Michael P. Glynn (Jane), Timothy F. Glynn (Dawn), Kevin P. Glynn (Susie) and Ryan D. Glynn (Ashley), nine grandchildren; Michael, Chelsea, Mariah, Madison, Bayleigh, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Kaden and Easton; and one great-granddaughter, Evelyn.  He is also survived by two brothers, John T. Glynn (Elizabeth), Francis M. Glynn (Ann); five sisters,  Louise (Sis) Walden, Patricia E. Jones (Archer), Anne L. Rosen, Marian E. Huttman (Bob) and Joan Glynn Damich (Kerry).

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Resurrection on    Wednesday, May 23 at 11am.  Burial will follow in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Portsmouth. The family will receive friends at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, Virginia on Tuesday, May 22 from 6:30 to 8 pm.
