CHESAPEAKE—Mary Elizabeth Randolph, 91, passed away at home, surrounded by family, on August 5, 2021. She was born in Cradock to the late Samuel and Edith Wileman Patterson.

Mary was a Navy veteran of the '51-'53 Korean Conflict. She went on to be a medical secretary at the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins University, and later a secretary/receptionist at Chesapeake Public Schools, where she retired after twenty years of service.

Mary dedicated her life to her family. An animal and nature lover, she loved being outdoors. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Bengies Owen; her first husband, Eugene E. Bengies; her second husband, Ernest H. Randolph; her brothers, Jack Limric and Edward Patterson; and her sister, Edith M. Hill. She is survived by her children: Brian E. Bengies (Nadeen), Patrick W. Bengies (Beverly), and Sharon L. Stewart (Ralph); her son-in-law Ross Owen; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
