CHESAPEAKE - Mary Edith Gower, 95, died November 9, 2022.

Mrs. Gower, a native of Portsmouth, was the widow of Russell A. Gower since his death in 2006. She was also predeceased by a son, William T. Gower, and a brother, Charles T. Watson.

Survivors include her sister, Jean Thompson of Norfolk; daughter Linda G Bartkowiak and husband Ronald; son Russell Mark Gower and wife Deborah; four grandchildren: Natalie Ann Johnsonbaugh and spouse Bill, William Michael Gower and wife Kelly, Mary Ann Gower, Sarah Holst; five great-grandchildren: Stephanie C. Napier and husband Chris, Shane M. Johnsonbaugh and wife Erica, Nathan Michael Gower, Kaylee-Raye Cagle, Pierce Horford; and five great-great-grandchildren: Jyden Green, Kyla Green, Landyn Napier, Isla Johnsonbaugh and Scarlet Johnsonbaugh.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 17, at Foster Funeral Home, 1926 High St., Portsmouth. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, November 18, at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, 4569 Shoulders Hill Rd., Suffolk. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneralHome.com.
