SUFFOLK - Mary Anne Currey, 93, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2023.  She was born in Norfolk County, VA on December 8, 1929, the daughter of the late Robert B. Lewis, Jr. and Mary Hodges Dempsey Lewis.

Mary Anne graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1947 and University of Richmond in 1963.  She worked many years and retired from the Virginia Employment Commission as a counselor.  She was a lifetime resident of Williamsburg, VA.

Mary Anne was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Lynn Harlen Currey, and brother, Robert B. Lewis III. Left to cherish her memory are her brother, William E. Lewis (Barb); nephews Robert B. Lewis IV (Kim) and Steven T. Lewis (Debbie); niece Terrie L. Crummett (Bill); and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 11, at Foster Funeral Home, 1926 High St., Portsmouth, with burial to follow at Olive Branch Cemetery. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneralHome.com.
