Mary Watley Beazley departed this life on April 30, 2016. She was the widow of Malcolm Fairfax Beazley, Jr. She was an outstanding and elegant woman. Born and raised in Portsmouth, she was a devoted and active member of the community. She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and the King's Daughters School of Nursing. Always proud of her profession, she became a school nurse for the Chesapeake Public School System where she worked for 25 years. Prior to that, she organized the volunteer program at Maryview Hospital. She brought her boundless energy to everything she undertook. She was a longtime member of Monumental United Methodist Church, the Portsmouth Woman's Club, the Executive Club, and the Pilot Club. She is survived by her two daughters, Sherrill B. Joyner and her husband Chandler H. Joyner, and Mary Glenn "Mim" Mathias and her husband Donald R. Mathias. She is also survived by three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She lived her life with Christian values and spread love wherever she went. Her family and friends were her greatest treasures. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 14, 2016 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Portsmouth, VA.
