Marguerite Rebecca Screeney Kennett, 100, passed away April 22, 2014.

Mrs. Kennett, a native of Newport News, was the daughter of the late Peter Vincent Screeney and Josie Lopes Screeney. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and was the widow of Charles L. Kennett since his death in 2003.

Survivors include her son, Captain Jerry J. Kennett (Cindy); three grandchildren, Michele Ober, Shannon Kennett, and Melissa Kennett; 2 great-grandchildren, Noelle and Mason; and a sister, Joanna T. Finley (Ken).

A Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 4137 Portsmouth Blvd., Chesapeake. A reception will follow the Mass in the church fellowship hall, burial to take place at 2 p.m. in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Portsmouth.
