CHESAPEAKE—Lorene Dee Pierce, 69, passed away August 20, 2021. She was born in Elizabethtown, PA to Theodore and Lovinabelle  Salter.

Lorene worked in nursing and healthcare for almost 20 years, both in Virginia and Alaska. She was a faithful woman of God and involved with various churches and ministries over the years. Lorene and David enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and eating out. And Grammy was always up for a lunch date and shopping with the grands.

Lorene is predeceased by her mother, Lovinabelle Salter.  She preceded her husband, David Pierce, in death by five days. She is survived by her father, Theodore Salter; her brother Derwin Salter (Ann); daughters Beverly Finchum and Mary Steimling; grandchildren William Steimling, Nicholas Steimling, Cheyenne Green-Howard (Hezekiah), Aurora Finchum, and Timothy Gill; niece Jennifer Roush(Kevin); and David's son Howard Pierce (Linda) and grandchildren Virginia Pierce and JD Pierce.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Foster Funeral Home, 1926 High St., Portsmouth. The family will receive friends an hour prior. Interment will be at Queen's Meadow Point Cemetery, Keyser, WV. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneralHome.com.
