Lewis N. Lawrence, 66, recently of Charlottesville, Va, died March 17, 2014 in his home.

Mr. Lawrence, a native of the Great Bridge area of Norfolk County, Va., was retired from Humana Health Care as an insurance salesman. He was a longtime and active member of the Churchland Rotary Club and for many years was the co-chairman of the annual Portsmouth/Churchland Rotary Bar-B-Q Fundraiser. He was predeceased by his first wife, Shirley S. Lawrence in 2005.

Survivors include his wife, Terry Arey; two children, Sarah L. Shaffer (David), Preston D. Lawrence (Shea); three grandchildren, Stephen, Matthew and Marley Paige; two sisters, Connie Abrames (Edward), Sue Lawrence (Cindy); two brothers, Edward L. Lawrence, Jr. (Linda), and Charles "Chuck" Lawrence (Debbie); and extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, Suffolk. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Condolences may be registered at bakerfoster.com.
