PORTSMOUTH- Layne Marie Younkins was born January 17, 2020 at 6:56 pm at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. On January 18, 2020 at 12:01 am, after the most precious five hours and five minutes, Layne Marie went to be with our Lord in heaven.  She passed peacefully holding the hand of her dad minutes after she was baptized.

Layne was born 12 weeks premature, weighing 2 pounds 11 ounces and measuring 14 inches long.  She fought a long and hard battle in and out of the womb with CCAM and hydrops; she was truly a fighter.

Layne is survived by her mother and father, Jeffrey and Ashlyn Younkins; her maternal grandparents, Greg and Laura Piland; her paternal grandparents, David and Dawn Younkins; and numerous aunts and uncles.

The family celebrated the life of Layne at a private burial at Meadowbrook Memorial Cemetery on January 23, 2020. Memorial contributions may be made to Towne Bank in Jeffrey or Ashlyn Younkins's name for the Layne Marie Memorial Fund.  A portion of donations will be used to offset medical bills and the remaining will be given to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Final Farewell.
