Obituary

CHESAPEAKE- Ladislav Bardi, 94, passed away November 9, 2017. He was born in Cerencany, Czechoslovakia to the late Andrej and Zuzana Valentová Bardi.
Ladislav served in the Slovak Army in World War II and was a member of the National Slovak Society. After many years in plant maintenance at General Electric, he retired in 1986. He was a founding member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and a dedicated volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
In addition to his parents, Ladislav was predeceased by his wife, Olga Zuzana; his son, Robert Daniel; and his brother, Julius Bardi. He is survived by his daughter, Irene Brady and husband James; grandchildren Jessica Brady Graves and Adam Brady; a great-granddaughter, Emma; his nephew and godson, Miroslav Bardi; his niece, Darina Bagol; and their extended family in Slovakia.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 13, from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 1926 High St., Portsmouth, VA. A graveside service will be held 11:00a.m. Tuesday, November 14, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3920 Airline Blvd, Chesapeake, VA.
