CHESAPEAKE—Justine "Jane" Johnson, 83, passed away June 23, 2021.  She was born in Franklin, VA to the late Edwin and Ida Johnson.

Jane graduated from Cradock High School in Portsmouth, VA, in 1955 and completed a three-year nurse's training program at Maryview Hospital, following which she became registered and later obtained a B.S. in Nursing from St. Joseph's College in Emmitsburg, Maryland.  She joined the Daughters of Wisdom in 1958 and worked as a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in New York City for many years.  After returning home to Portsmouth, VA, in 1998, she worked as a home health nurse, covering the 4 p.m. to midnight shift.

Jane loved God, her church, reading, gardening, and being with her family and friends.

Jane is survived by her sisters, Jennifer Walters, Christine Johnson and Kathryn Brandi; nieces Leigh Kelleter, Melanie Riggs, Justine Whitaker; nephews Tony Whitaker, Clark Walters; and a number of grandnieces and nephews.

A Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 2, at the Church of St. Therese, 4137 Portsmouth Blvd., Chesapeake. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneralHome.com.
