Julia Crumpler Giles, 91, passed away peacefully Thursday November 13, 2014. A native of Portsmouth, she was the daughter of the late James N., Sr. and Esther D. Crumpler. Mrs. Giles retired from the federal government as a secretary in the US Navy and was a member of Western Branch Community Church. She was predeceased in death by her husband Aubrey T. Giles, Jr., three brothers, James N., Jr., Thomas D. and Weymouth B. Crumpler, and dear friend Thomas C. Lawson.

She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Giles Gatling and husband James, and Ann Giles Manning; brother, Nelson C. Crumpler; four grandchildren, James T. Mowbray and wife Victoria, Catherine Ann McCourt and husband Timothy, Erin G. Schilling and husband Casey, and William T. Manning; three great-grandsons, Parker J. Mowbray, James T. McCourt and Gunner G. Schilling; sisters-in-law, Betty P. Giles and Barbara L. Giles. She is also survived by her adored extended family James and Judy Mowbray.
