PORTSMOUTH- John "Mike" O'Connor, 69, passed away December 3, 2017. He was born in Portsmouth to the late John "Jack" and Audrey Twilley O'Connor.

Mike graduated with honors from Frederick Military Academy in 1967. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired transportation analyst for Estes Trucking. An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of the Float Fishermen of Virginia and a skilled kayaker and canoer.

He is survived by his brother, Glenn T. O'Connor; his sister, Leslie A. Etheridge; and his deeply-loved nieces and nephews, Erin, Andrea, Ian, and Austin.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 522 High St., Portsmouth. A burial with U.S. Navy Honors will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery, 2 Cpl. J. M. Williams Ave., Portsmouth.
