John P.
Muscarella
Sep 10, 1968 — Jan 2, 2025
Chesapeake
CHESAPEAKE—John P. Muscarella passed away January 2, 2025. He was born on September 10, 1968 in Asheville, NC.
John was predeceased by his parents, Paul N. Muscarella, Sr. and Joan Muscarella Hoggard; his stepfather George F. Hoggard; stepsister Judy Hoggard Taylor; and stepbrother George R. Hoggard. He is survived by his brothers, Paul Muscarella and David Muscarella (Cindy); sisters Kathy Golden (Ben), Suzanne Cantwell (Mike), and Michelle Weaver (Jay); stepsisters Amy Nunnally (Rick), Mary Hoggard, and Lora Schmidt (Mark); stepbrothers Mark Hoggard, Jamie Hoggard (Jiao) and Rev. Joe Hoggard (Laura); and many, many nieces and nephews.
John was affectionately known as "Big Mac" and "Big John" to his family and friends. He attended Western Branch High School and later CNU. He worked for Tidewater Yacht as a Dockmaster for many years but should have also been compensated for advertising and modeling TYA t-shirts, as they were the bulk of his wardrobe.
John's easygoing manner and humor will long be remembered for making friends and family laugh, though many of the stories and jokes cannot be repeated here, due to the G-rated nature of this obituary. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of his life will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the Elks Lodge, 2541 Gum Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23321. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneralHome.com.
