Joanna Theresa Screeney Nee Finlay, 93, passed away November 3, 2015 in her home.
Mrs. Finlay, a native of Middletown, Ohio, was the daughter of the late Peter Vincent Screeney, Sr. and Joanna Lopes Screeney. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her first husband, Patrick J. Nee, Sr.; son, Patrick J. Nee, Jr.; two sisters, Marguerite S. Kennett, Mary S. Weth; and two brothers, Peter Vincent Screeney, Jr., and John Screeney.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Bruce Finlay; daughter, Joanna Nee Deal and husband Henry; step-son, Kenneth A. Finlay and wife Deborah; seven grandchildren, Andrew Jordan and wife Kirstyn, Christopher Jordan and wife Kelly, Patrick Nee III and partner Lisa Shaver, Jennifer Bartoletti and husband Erik, Bruce Finlay, Kristina Thompson and husband Brandon, James Finlay and wife Monica; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov 6, 2015 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 4137 Portsmouth Blvd., Chesapeake, VA. 23321. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will be in All Saints Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her church.
