Obituary

VIRGINIA BEACH - Jerome Christopher "Jerry" Candrilli, Jr., 81, of Mesa, AZ passed away on October 22, 2016 in Kauai, Hawaii due to a massive stroke.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerome C. Candrilli Sr. and Paula Manuello. He is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Judy Candrilli; his children, Jerry Candrilli III (Marlene) of Richmond, VA; Kathy Henn (Rick) of Norfolk, VA; and John Candrilli of Port St. Lucie, Florida; 7 grandchildren: Adam, Gus, Joey, Anthony, Jack, Dominick and Delaney and 1 great-granddaughter, Madison; his sisters, Joan Voges of Freeport, NY and JoAnne Reynolds (LeRoy) of Portsmouth, VA; his Aunt Marie Minton of NC, and lots of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jerry loved to laugh and loved to make other people laugh! Everyone he met was greeted with a smile and a joke. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, he spent the first part of his life in upstate NY in Athens and on Long Island in Freeport, NY, then in Portsmouth & Virginia Beach, VA. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War and again as a Merchant Seaman. He was a life-long electrician in NY and VA and was the founder and president of Jerrit Electric Corporation in Virginia Beach, VA for 31 years. After touring America in their RV, he and Judy retired to Silver Spur Village in Mesa, AZ in 2011 where he ran the men's breakfast, the poker games, the pool tournaments, the golf outings, and the Halloween golf cart parades with his countless zany costumes! "Keep Calm and Let Jerry Handle It" was his motto. His passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts.
His ashes will be interred at Princess Anne Memorial Park, 1110 N. Great Neck Road, VA Beach, VA on Saturday, Nov. 19th at 2:00 PM with U.S. Navy Honors. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday Nov 20th at Eagle Pointe Bay Club at Cahoon Plantation, 1503 Eagle Pointe Way Chesapeake, VA 23322 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. All who knew and loved him are welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
