PORTSMOUTH –James Thomas "Jimmy" Darden, 74, passed away November 1, 2017.
Jimmy was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, the son of the late Lester Jacob Darden, Sr. and Evelyn Anna Domme Darden. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of Elizabeth Manor Golf and Country Club.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Paul Darden, and sister, Virginia McClenney. Survivors include his sons, Christopher Darden, Michael Darden, James Darden, and Jon-Paul Darden; his brother Jack Darden; a sister-in-law, Amy Darden; grandchildren Trevor, James, Kayla, Christopher, Avery, Nathan, and Nicholas Darden; several nieces and nephews, Morgan Darden, Rob Parker, Jason Darden, Jesse Slover, Shelby Hill, Chloe McDaniels, Mary Melissa Nicely, and Carolyn Wilkins; many great-nieces and nephews; and special friends Millie Gower, Catherine Hill, Kim Stout, and Kathy McDaniels.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 6 at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth. A Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 7, at Church of St. Therese, 4137 Portsmouth Blvd., Chesapeake, followed by burial in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth.
