Obituary

A wife, a daughter, a sister, a mama, a best friend, but most of all a beloved MeeMaw.
Jackie, age 70, died with her family surrounded beside her with so much love & heartache on Monday, September 4, 2017, at 9:20pm in Portsmouth, VA.
Jackie was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her brother Jerry Cataldo Sr., & preceded in death by her parents Gerald & Florence "Flo" Cataldo, her brother Gary W. Cataldo & her son Thomas "Tommy" Stritzinger, who passed away at the age of 29. She married her husband Thomas "Tom" in 1963, in Pittsburgh. They were stationed in 7 states in the Coast Guard, with Portsmouth, VA being their final duty station. While raising their 4 children, she spent 30 years in the car industry holding various positions throughout her career, finishing as New Car Sales Manager at Duke Automotive, where she was employed for 16 years.
She leaves many family & friends behind to remember her with love but those who will miss her immensely are her husband of nearly 54 years; her children Eric, Paula (Tod) Midgett, Krista ( Paul) Stone; grandchildren Tray, Kailyn, Zachary, Mackenzie, Gabrielle, Abbie, Paetyn, Tolson & Braeden, & 1 great-granddaughter, Ellory.
MeeMaw was an avid traveler who loved the beach, visiting over 15 islands & countries throughout her lifetime, with Hawaii being her favorite. She invested all her time & energy into her family, but especially her grandchildren & great granddaughter. Attending countless school & extracurricular activities, she was always passionate about being our number one supporter. Even with her battle with lung cancer, she was able to attend 1 last baseball tournament for her grandson in July at Myrtle Beach. She had the biggest heart & was proud of each of us in many ways. We love you MeeMaw forever & always!
The family invites you to attend a Funeral Mass in celebration of her life on Saturday, September 23, at 11:00am, at Church of the Resurrection, 3501 Cedar Lane, Portsmouth VA. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneralHome.com.
