Hillard Kermit Good, Sr.

April 4, 1938 – August 4, 2025

CHESAPEAKE— Hillard Kermit Good Sr.,87, born in Frame, WV, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025 in Suffolk, VA joining his loving wife of 60 years, Fay.

He is survived by his sons Hillard Kermit Good, Jr. of Dryden, MI, Terry Lee Good of Newport News, VA, honorary son Jesse Darden Lanston of Suffolk, VA, grandson Derek Kermit Good of Chesterfield, MI, granddaughter Holly Michelle Wilson of Davisburg, MI, great-grandson Lincoln Edward Wilson, and great-granddaughter McKinley Rose Wilson.

He is preceded in death by his wife Lorena Fay Good, son Tony Glen Good, grandson T G Good, great-granddaughter Isabella Ann Good, and great-grandson Caleb Michael Good.

He was a Senior Chief in the U.S. Navy retiring proudly after 20 years of service receiving multiple honors and service awards.  He proceeded to work another 20 years in the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a marine machinist before retiring for good allowing him to devote more time to his passions – hunting, fishing, and shooting.

He was a member of the Izaak Walton League for over 24 years where he found many new friends with shooting and outdoor interests.  He was shooting high caliber pistols with high accuracy up to the last two weeks of his life.  He knew when he had fired his last round.

He claimed that he lived a charmed life.  What more can anyone ask for?
