Helen Ann Reese Ferguson, 89, died August 7, 2014.

Mrs. Ferguson was born in Petersburg, Va., the daughter of the late Dr. William Ashton Reese and Helen Parrish Reese. A registered nurse, Helen Ann was a 1948 graduate of the Medical College of Virginia Nursing School. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Smithfield, and was the widow of B.B. "Bunny" Ferguson, Jr. since his death in 2004. She was a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Borland Chamberlain and husband Joseph of Hertford, N.C.; a son, Bernard B. Ferguson III and wife Barbara of Alexandria, Va.; five grandchildren; a great grandchild; a sister, Jacquelin Perdue of Chester, Va.; and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday August 12, 2014 in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth, by Rev. Macon Walton. Please omit flowers and consider a donation to the charity of your choice. Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, is assisting the family.
