CHESAPEAKE—Hampton "Tommy" Thomas Anderson III, 73, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2020. He was born in Portsmouth, VA to the late Hampton Thomas Anderson, Jr. and Gertrude Foster Anderson.

Tommy was known for his kindness, gentle spirit and love of laughter.  He shared his love of family and the Lord with everyone he met.  Tommy loved to talk about sports, the Bible and his grandkids.   He never ceased to tell everyone by word, thought or deed how much he appreciated and loved them.  He will be missed by all.

Tommy is survived by his two daughters, Tina Ellsworth and Christine Torian; his sister, Yvonne Anderson Belding; niece, Laurie Metzger; nephew, Todd Belding; 4 grandchildren; and a great niece.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, December 18, at Covenant United Methodist Church, 2004 Dock Landing Rd., Chesapeake. The burial of his ashes will take place at a later date, in Olive Branch Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Toys for Tots at toysfortots.org.
