Gregory Pantschyschak, 78, passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2016. He was born May 15, 1938 in Dovhe, Ukraine. He was the son of the late John Ivan and Stella Tatiana Pantschyschak.
Gregory served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a Welding Instructor, after 30 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Portsmouth and was predeceased by an infant son, Bernard Robbie Pantschyschak.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Gloria Ann Pantschyschak; 5 sons, Gregory Pantschyschak, Jr. (Doris) of Chesapeake, Michael Pantschyschak (Debra) of High Point, NC, David Pantschyschak (Pam) of Suffolk, Mark Pantschyschak (Deborah) of Chesapeake, and Shawn Pantschyschak (Loren) of Windsor. He is also survived by 4 sisters, Sophia Pollack of Cantonment, FL, Mary Lane of Daphne, Alabama, Luba-Liz Anthony of Fort Johnson, NY and Rosalie Marshall of Schenectady, NY; 1 brother, Michael Pantschyschak of Amsterdam, NY and 5 grandchildren Stephanie, Christopher, Chelsey, Robert and Jack.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2016 at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, by Rev. Father Anthony Morris. Burial, with military honors, will follow in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Portsmouth. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 6350 Center Dr. #102, Norfolk, Virginia 23502.
