SUFFOLK—George A. Henderson, 72, passed away January 26, 2021. He was born in Portland, ME, to the late Bill and Jean Smiley Henderson.

George joined the Navy in 1967 and spent his 26 years serving aboard many aircraft carriers. He was a well-educated and degreed man who received many service awards and continued to serve by teaching "TAP" classes after retiring in October 1993. He was a member of Suffolk VFW Post 9382.

He was predeceased by his brother John and is survived by his wife of 54 years, Valerie; his son George, Jr. (Christine); daughter Susan; grandson Logan; sisters Sandra (Dennis), Bonnie (Wayne), and Cheryl (Jose); and brother Robert (Gloria).

There will be no service at this time, and burial of his ashes will take place at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery at a later date. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneralHome.com.
