PORTSMOUTH—Gary "Scott" Prince passed away on September 14, 2026 in his home. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia on December 22, 1973, he was 52 years old.

Scott is survived by his loved ones: mother Frances (Sissy) Kilpatrick; stepdad Bobby Kilpatrick; son Christian Prince and his wife Lynzi; his ex-wife, Janie Cardoza; his brother David Prince; stepsister NiCole Wilson (Chris); his niece, Mackenzie Satchell (Noah); and his nephew Colby Prince.

Scott was a conscientiously hard-working man. He spent many years in the construction business, helping develop building sites with VICO Construction Company. He also worked at Wilbar Truck Equipment as a mechanic, where he was viewed as a dedicated employee.

Scott was a very loving and caring man who loved his family and friends dearly. He battled a demon for most of his adult life and is now at peace.

Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, at Foster Funeral Home, 1926 High St., Portsmouth. Burial will be at a later date.
