PORTSMOUTH—Frances Borum returned to her Heavenly home on November 7, 2022, passing away peacefully in her sleep in the presence of her family.  She was born May 7, 1927, in Calumet City, Illinois to the late Marie M. Nichols and Frank Nichols.

Frances was a long-standing member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, where she and Moe were married in 1946.  At the church, she served as a lay minister and was a devoted member of the "sewing circle". She served as the Commander of the Women's Auxiliary of the DAV Chapter 41. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's (now St. Paul's) Catholic High School in Portsmouth and a star of their girls' basketball team.

In addition to her parents, Frances is predeceased by her husband Marion (Moe), to whom she was a loving wife for 70 ½ years; her sister Dorothy; and her brother Frank. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and is survived by her children, John (Gay), Frank (Robyne), Rachel (Earl), and Craig (Jen); grandchildren Earl, Josh, Lauren, John, and Alexis; seven great-grandchildren; a special niece, Betty Ann Covey; and nephew Johnny James. Frances was a warm and generous woman, and an anchor for her family.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 18, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 34 Afton Pkwy., Portsmouth, followed by burial at Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church an hour prior to Mass.
