Evelina Freitas Bump, 87, passed into the Lord's arms on July 15, 2016, surrounded by her family. Evelina was born in Azores, Portugal and resided in Virginia Beach, Va.
She was a strong, gracious, humble woman who believed "always and forever, help others." She so loved God, Church, and all animals. Evelina was predeceased by her husband, William Ambrosio Bump; her parents, Amelia Freitas and José Vieira; and four siblings, Francisco Vieira, Regina Sousa, Ernesto Vieira, and Margarida Araúje.
She is survived by her brother, Antonio Vieira, her sister and devoted best friend, Maria Lambert, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Resurrection, 3501 Cedar Lane, Portsmouth, Va., at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 21, followed by a private family entombment at Princess Anne Memorial Mausoleum, Virginia Beach, Va. B.W. Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Virginia Beach SPCA.
