PORTSMOUTH- Elizabeth (Betty) Jo Ross, born February 23, 1956 in La Mesa California to Carol and Richard Bradford, passed away in her home December 2, 2019, after a battle with Alzheimer's.

Elizabeth grew up in California, marrying Peter Ross in 1980. They moved to Maine, South Carolina, and back to California, before retiring to Virginia. She homeschooled her four children and was active in the homeschooling community, where she is remembered for her love of science and homemade treats. After their graduation, Elizabeth completed her Masters in Science from Old Dominion University before continuing to teach science at Tidewater Community College.

She was a faithful member of St. John's Episcopal Church, a longtime member of the choir, and a beloved Vacation Bible School teacher.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband Peter Ross; children Megan (Shawn) Timm, Amanda Ross, Andrew (Nadiya) Ross, and Aaron (Faith) Ross; five grandchildren; Cailey Timm, Maddison Timm, Zlata Ross, Milana Ross, and Ezra Ross; and her sisters Sue Fitzgibbons and Nancy Bradford.

Services will be held at the end of February at St. John's Episcopal Church in Portsmouth.
