CHESAPEAKE – It is with great sadness that the family of Edwina "Windy" Manley Ozmon announces her passing while at home, Tuesday, November 12, 2024.  She was born in Northampton County (Cape Charles, VA) to the late Edward and Mary Manley.

Edwina  was predeceased by her beloved husband Albert Ozmon (Jack) and will be deeply missed.  She is survived by her children, Edward Ozmon, Sr. and wife Penny, William Ozmon, Timothy Ozmon, David Ozmon, Michael Ozmon and wife Pamela, Mark Ozmon and wife Connie, and R. Bruce Ozmon and wife Amy; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother Ned Manley.

She had very fond memories of growing up around the Chesapeake Bay and loved everything seafood, especially the local blue crab. A graduate of Saint Vincent High School in Newport News, she completed DePaul Hospital School of Nursing in Norfolk.  She went on to work in nursing from 1955 on, and her career culminated with her last 15 years being spent managing Adolescent Programs, Adult Psychiatric Programs, as well as a Chemical Dependency Program at Maryview Hospital.

Edwina was a member of Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church and enjoyed the friendship from the many people she came to know there.   She was especially thankful for the time she spent working with people in Al-Anon and AA, as those programs gave her a great purpose throughout her life.   The friendships she developed through those programs were very special to her.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Church of the Resurrection in Portsmouth. The family will receive friends at the church an hour prior. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Oasis Social Ministry, 800 A Williamsburg Ave, Portsmouth, Va. 23704.
