The heavens were rejoicing when Doris Morgan entered the gates of heaven on March 26, 2025. Dr. James (Jim) Morgan, her husband, was first in line to greet her. What a grand reunion!

Doris is survived by 4 children: James (Jim) Morgan of Woodbridge, CT, and his wife, Georgia, Susan Rea of Glen Allen, VA, and her husband Sonny, Nancy Knight of Seminole, FL, and husband Joe, and Carol Jackson of Matthews, NC, and husband Paul; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Doris attended Greensboro High School, The Woman's College of the University of North Carolina, and then attended Duke University School of Nursing. Jim and Doris met at Duke and enjoyed 46 years of happy married life.

She was active in her community, serving as president of the Woman's Auxiliary of Portsmouth Academy of Medicine. Also, as a member of the Portsmouth Service League, Doris volunteered at the Medical Clinic of Portsmouth General Hospital.
Doris enjoyed spending time with her husband, family, and their friends. Duke basketball was a favorite team/sport to watch, and Doris and Jim loved to play bridge with close friends. She provided a beautiful life for her family.
