Doris Lynch Lucado, 93, passed away peacefully August 26, 2014.

Mrs. Lucado, born in Roanoke Rapids, NC to Mary Indie Clary and Norman Blankenship Lynch, she was the widow of Boyd T. Lucado since his death in 1971, and was also predeceased by a son, Eugene B. Lucado. She was a member of Fairview Heights Baptist Church.

Doris was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and loved by all. She will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor and love of music.

Survivors include a son, James N. Lucado and wife Pat; a sister, Peggy Eudy; 4 grandchildren, Jay Lucado, Beth Lucado Hatfield, Casey Lucado, Alanna Spence and 8 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff and care team at Sentara Village Oak Grove for their loving care.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday August 30, 2014 at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth by the Rev. Joe Covey. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Friends may join the family one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 6350 Center Dr. #102, Norfolk, VA 23502.
